Bilingual Beginnings was founded to bring high-quality Spanish-immersion early childhood education to the Seattle community.
Everything we do is rooted in our belief that the early years are a powerful time for growth. During this window, children are not only absorbing a second language, they are naturally wired to thrive in a Spanish-rich environment where learning feels effortless and joyful.
Our program is designed so children hear, speak, and interact in Spanish every single day. Through songs, stories, routines, and play, Spanish becomes a meaningful part of who they are and how they connect with the world.
We blend full Spanish immersion with Montessori-inspired exploration and strong emotional support. We meet children where they are and help them grow with confidence, curiosity, and pride in becoming bilingual.
Founder & Head of School
Hi, I’m Alexa Lopez, the founder of Bilingual Beginnings Preschool. I’m originally from Mexico, and Seattle has become my second home. My passion for working with children began in high school, when I volunteered at a center for kids with special needs, helping with physical therapy, going on excursions, and simply being there to support and connect with them. I also spent time at a local orphanage, tutoring, planning fun activities, and listening to kids who just needed someone to care.
Over the years, I’ve continued to nurture that passion through five years of babysitting experience, two years as an au pair, and countless joyful moments with little ones. Those hands-on experiences deepened my love for early childhood education and confirmed how meaningful this work is to me.
Although I completed my Master’s degree in Business Analytics at Seattle University, my heart has always been with children. That’s what led me to open this preschool, a place inspired by the Spanish-speaking home and culture that raised me.
At Bilingual Beginnings, my mission is to offer a warm, joyful, Spanish-immersion environment where children feel truly seen, supported, and excited to learn every day.
